Arvada Colorado SR22 Insurance Rates

I live in Arvada, Colorado, and I need to purchase SR-22 insurance. I am trying to get the cheapest insurance possible. What are some factors that affect my SR22 insurance rates?

Auto insurance premiums in Colorado are determined by a number of different factors. Some of these criteria may seem unfair.  Below is a list of the different factors that insurance companies look at to determine the cost of your auto insurance.

Credit score and history: Drivers with a low credit score could be forced to pay higher rates.

Age: Young drivers (under 25) and older drivers (over 65) could see a rate increase.

Occupation: Jobs that involve driving long distances (truck drivers, etc.) may be charged more.

Annual Miles Driven: The fewer miles you drive per year, the lower your premium could be.

Location: The area where you live impacts your insurance premium.  If you live in an area with a high crime rate, you could pay more.

Driving Record: This is one of the most important factors that determine your auto insurance rate in Colorado.  Obviously, the better your driving record is, the lower your rates will be.

Marital Status and Gender:  Statistics show that married drivers tend to have less accidents and speeding tickets which results in lower premiums. Also, female drivers tend to be safer drivers which results in them paying lower rates than male drivers.

Type of Vehicle: The make and model of your vehicle has a huge impact on your insurance premium. For example, a sports car may cost more to insure.

Garage: If you keep your car in a garage, it is less likely to be stolen or broken in to. This can result in lower insurance rates.

These are just some of the factors that will determine your SR-22 insurance premium in Arvada, Colorado. Each insurance company looks at a slightly different set of criteria. That is why it is so important for drivers to compare quotes from a few different companies. You may find that one company can offer you rates much cheaper than another one.

Colorado Auto Insurance Requirements

Wednesday, July 3rd, 2013

I live in Fort Collins, Colorado and I need to purchase auto insurance.  I have always been on my parent’s policy, so I’m not really sure how to do it.  How do I know how much coverage I need to purchase?

Purchasing auto insurance is a fairly simple process.  First you will need to decide if you want basic liability insurance or full coverage. Liability insurance provides coverage for other vehicles/people/property that you damage in an accident. It does not cover any damages to your vehicle.  Full coverage insurance covers both your vehicle and other vehicles/people/property damaged in an accident.

The state minimum liability auto insurance requirements in Colorado are:

  • $25,000―per person for bodily injury
  • $50,000―per accident for bodily injury
  • $15,000―per accident for property damage

These are just the minimum coverage amounts required by law.  You can purchase additional coverage and higher coverage amounts if you would like to. I would recommend comparing quotes from as many different insurance providers as possible. This will help you find the cheapest auto insurance possible.
