How do I reinstate my driver’s license in Colorado after being convicted of a DUI?

There are a few steps you need follow in order to reinstate your driver’s license.

1) Identify your eligibility date. Find out from the Colorado DMV when your suspension period is over and when you are eligible to have your license reinstated. Your driver’s license will remain suspended and ineligible for reinstatement until this day.

2) Pay the required reinstatement fee ($95.00). You may be required to pay other fees depending on your unique situation.

3) Show proof of financial responsibility and getting an SR-22 filing. You must carry the state required minimum liability insurance.

Once you have completed these steps, you should be able to get your driver’s license reinstated. Remember, you must keep the SR-22 insurance for the required period of time or your driver’s license will be suspended again. Make sure you always pay your SR-22 insurance premium on time and do not cancel the policy for any reason.
